25 Weeks Baby #2

How Far Along? 25 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: 11 pounds

Symptoms: I’ve had lots of tightening this week, some lower back pain and my SI has been bothering me.

Movement? Cruz likes to kick and punch at the same time so I can feel him in two places at once. He is active all time just like his big brother was.

Sleep? I’ve had a few nights of insomnia but Cash also slept from 9 PM until 8 AM one night so that was amazing!

Exercise? We had some beautiful weather this week so we took the dogs for a walk. Cash had to walk in the snow the entire time and kept wiping out and laughing. He also had to hold Addy’s leash for most of the walk. I wouldn’t say we worked up a sweat but we got out in the fresh air so that’s what counts.

Food Cravings: While we were on our walk I started craving stir fry with peanut sauce so I made steamed veggies with chicken and peanut sauce for dinner. It hit the SPOT!

Food Aversions: None

Happy or Moody? Overall I’ve been happy this week, but I’ve had a few moody moments.

Miss Anything? Bulletproof coffee. I’m excited to have a cup after Cruz is born.

Best Moment This Week: Announcing Crus’z name! We took some really fun name announcement photos.

Looking Forward to: Getting everything ready for Cruz’s arrival. I’m in a nesting mood!

Cash’s Contemplations: Cash loves to run tallow lotion “on baby Cruz” every night. He also tells me all the things that baby Cruz is going to do. He gets very serious and tells me “baby Cruz play sandbox” “baby Cruz have milk” “Baby Cruz play cars”. He also asks to “see baby Cruz” and wants me to lift my shirt so he can touch my belly. He likes to share his bacon with my belly too!

He is a little bit possessive of my belly and doesn’t like daddy to feel Cruz kicking. When Nick puts his hands on my belly Cash yells “no, no, no daddy” and throws his body over my belly. Nick and I try to explain that Cruz is daddy’s baby too but he isn’t too happy about sharing. He will sit there while daddy is feeling my belly and let huge crocodile tears silently fall down his cheeks.

How Far Along? 24 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 11 pounds

Symptoms: I’ve had some Braxton Hicks this week. I feel so much bigger this time so I’m definitely uncomfortable at times. My skin itches like crazy too! I’ve been using tallow lotion that really helps, but I still itch!

Movement? So much movement! I feel like this little guy thinks he’s in a boxing gym.

Sleep? I’m sleeping in the bed again so I’m sleeping better! I still get up to pee a couple times a night but I actually feel like I slept pretty well this week.

Exercise? None. I’m still getting over being sick so my energy level is super low.

Food Cravings: Bone broth with Kerrygold butter and egg. I’ve also been drinking banana, coconut milk smoothies with chocolate bone broth protein.

Food Aversions: None. It’s so strange to not have aversions this go around!

Happy or Moody? Happy! I’m finally feeling better! I’ve been in a nesting mood this week too. I can’t believe that I’m already 6 months along! This pregnancy has flown by!

Miss Anything? Coffee. Nick didn’t drink coffee for almost two months so I didn’t really miss it, but this week he’s been having it in the morning and as soon as I smell it brewing I miss it!

Best Moment This Week: Nick and I both woke up super early one morning so we whispered in bed while Cash slept. We talked about how awesome life is going to be with two boys. We can’t wait to meet our little guy

Looking Forward to: Announcing our little man’s name! We have a really great name picked out!

23 Weeks Baby #2

I'm really sad that I missed two weeks of bump pictures and a week of updates but I was so sick that I couldn't bring myself to go outside for a picture or open my computer to type.

How Far Along? 23 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 10 pounds! I’m actually pretty shocked about my weight gain since I’ve been sick as a dog an haven’t had much of an appetite. When I was 23 weeks pregnant with Cash I had only gained 6 pounds.

Symptoms: Pregnancy heartburn has been SO bad these last two weeks! The only thing that helps is drink baking soda in water with a little honey. It doesn’t taste good but it works!

Movement? This little guy is active just like Cash. He is especially active at night when I’m trying to sleep.

Sleep? I’ve been sick for the last two weeks so sleep has not been good. I went through a week on only sleeping 2-3 hours in 15 minute intervals because my throat was so sore I could hardly swallow.

Exercise? NONE! I’ve hardly been able to get off the couch.

Food Cravings: None. I lived on bone broth with Kerrygold butter and eggs for a  week.

Food Aversions: None.

Happy or Moody? I came down with the horrid virus that has been circling this winter. Two weeks ago I came down with a sore throat that was by far the worst sore throat I’ve ever had. It lasted for 6 days and I felt like I was swallowing razor blades. On the 7th day the virus moved into my sinuses and I couldn’t breath out of either side. It was so much worse than a cold! The sinus pressure just continued to build. It was so bad one night that I literally did not sleep at att. I stared at the clock and counted down the time until I could go to urgent care. My mom took me to urgent care first thing in the morning and the doctor said I had a sinus infection. He prescribed me with antibiotics and told me to take two Tylenol for the sinus pain. I was so upset! I tried everything natural – elderberry syrup, raw garlic, colloidal silver and apple cider vinegar, but nothing worked. I took the antibiotics for three days and then stopped. I felt like my body needed a little help but there was no way that I was going to take antibiotics for 10 days while pregnant. After researching it I felt comfortable with my decision even though most people would disagree. I even hate the fact that I’ve taken Tylenol, but arnica just wasn’t giving me enough relief. I still have really bad pressure in the morning, but I’m feeling way better.

Miss Anything? Energy and being healthy. It’s tough enough being sick, but being sick and pregnant is the worst.

Best Moment This Week: All of the sweet snuggles and naps that I’ve had with my CashMan. He has been so loving and so sweet to his mama!

Looking Forward to: Feeling better! I cannot wait to feel like myself again.

21 Weeks Baby #2

How Far Along? 21 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: 5 pounds

Symptoms: I’ve had some ligament pain and discomfort this week but nothing too terrible. I’ve also had some pretty bad heartburn at night but my DGL really helps.

Movement? Our little boy is super active just like his big brother. He is especially active at night.

Sleep? I’ve been waking up around 3 AM almost every night and haven’t been able to go back to sleep until 5-6. Cash gets up around 6:30-7 so sleep hasn’t been great this week. I have no trouble falling asleep at night; it’s just staying asleep that I’m having a hard time with. I’m also peeing 2-3 times a night so that doesn’t help matters.

Exercise? I think I have to count chasing around a busy toddler as exercise…that seems to be the only exercise I’m getting.

Food Cravings: This pregnancy is so different from my pregnancy with Cash. I honestly don’t have major cravings but I’ve been enjoying the shredded chicken with celery, apples, dill and paleo mayo over spinach, kale and swiss chard. I made some fat bombs and have been eating those to try and get more healthy fats in my day.

Food Aversions: None. I’m able to handle raw chicken a little better too!

Happy or Moody? Happy happy happy! I love knowing that we’re having a boy now so I can say “he” when I talk about the baby.

Miss Anything? Nothing this week

Best Moment This Week: Our ultrasound! I still can’t get over how amazing it is to see our son for the first time. I can’t wait to meet him in May/June.

Looking Forward to: Announcing our name choice!
